Costumer Reviews
I searched high and low for a decent looking/stylish desk fan that was of a reasonable size. I needed something for my bedroom to sit on top of a dresser, as I have no room for a fan on a floor stand. Note this fan is larger then you might think, so make sure you have plenty of desk space if that is the intended purpose.
This product is seemingly very well made and is certainly stylish. The glass base is solid and the rest seems well made and reasonably sturdy. It looks a lot better than most of the plastic models on the market. I thought I'd found exactly what I was looking for.
However, when I turned it on I was very surprised at both how strong the lowest setting is, and how loud the noise is. I have absolutely no idea why they think people need or want such a strong low setting, especially for a so called desk fan. It blows too much air and is quite noisy. The next two settings get stronger and louder, which is expected, but without a low speed/quieter setting it all seems a little too much, especially for a bedroom fan. Another gripe is that you have to turn the dial from 0 through 3 and 2 then 1 to get the lowest setting. Very strange design. It should logically be the other way around.
I am quite disappointed really. If they had only made it less powerful (and thus quieter) Bionaire would have had an excellent product. Your view may vary, but I think most people will find it too strong for its intended purpose.
This just arrived. It's a good looking fan and seems well made. Some assembly is required, but nothing major. The main downside is the noise, the fan has quite narrow blades and even on its slowest setting sounds like a light aircraft is taking off in the distance. Being a desk fan it sits quite close, so this noise is very distracting. It doesn't help that the slowest setting is quite powerful, it could do with a least one extra setting.
