Not a bad fan, quite powerful, if a little noisy (smooth sort of noise tho, not rattly). However just wanted to address another reviewer's opinion on its sturdiness. The base is indeed as sturdy (; stylish) as you'd expect chrome to be, but the plastic housing for the motor is not quite so. In fact mine has conked out after about a month of (occasional) use. If you like this model it's pretty good when it works but don't unplug ; move from room to room ; maybe live without the oscillation option. Otherwise a cheap plastic fan from woolworths will probably do just as well. Very much in the manufacturer's favour tho, that 3 year warranty, which I'm now looking into...
It's a good fan, and looks the part, but be sure to measure out what 30 CM is as when it arrived it was bigger than I imagined for a desk fan (my fault). My only criticism is that the stand in full height mode is not tall enough to reach face level from the floor (if you are sitting at a desk) and the footprint of the fan is too big to put on a desk (takes up too much precious desk space). So I have it in full height mode but still need to sit it on a smaller side table to keep me cool when at my main desk. Also the controls at the back of the fan are awkward to work / adjust - especially when the fan is in use - you have to struggle to get to the back and work them. You also have to go through fast settings before you get to slow settings ... would have been great if the controls were more readily accessible.
