I needed a fan that wasn't too quiet as I use it at night to create a kind of 'white noise' effect to drown out the noise of the planes (I live near a flight path). It's not really noisy but gives a nice hum (I have to turn it up to the highest setting before it's actually loud enough to drown out some planes. Works great for cooling too :)
The fan is just what I needed for my bedroom when its to hot to sleep, I could not be without it. M
